Daisies(Věra Chytilová) 1966 ** 6/20/2016

There are two girls, and there’s fluttering underneath the whole picture a real sexual tension. They both have terribly annoying haircuts, and their childlike shtick wears thin real quick. The movie is most interesting in its shifts between color and black & white, and the colored filters that switch sometimes at random over the frame. Also compelling is the quick footage of trains, with their colors slurring after them like gasoline in water. It’s also worth setting down that Czech men are much better looking than women.
