Jake Book(Harrison Ford) investigates the slaying of a fellow cop witnessed by a young Amish boy by two corrupt cops(Danny Glover plays the meaty one). He finds that the conspiracy goes up to the police chief and after being shot by McFeel(Glover), brings the mother and child back to their Lancaster County farm. Rachel(the mother) nurses Book back to life and an insipid love story interwoven with farm chores plays out for three quarters of an hour. The final sequence with death by raining corn is fun, but a sink-pipe synth soundtrack and casual police violence laughed off at the beginning makes this nothing-to-say film a bore.
