Dead Poet’s Society(Peter Weir) 1989 **** 1/11/2016

John Keating(Robin Williams) inspires a pack of boys at a prep school by quoting Whitman with a sense of wonder.  This catalyst inspires them to do as he did and convene a Dead Poet’s Society and read one another verse.  Knox chases the most beautiful blond in the world, Nick acts to the displeasure of his stern father.  There is some beautiful photography from John Seale.  There are moments when it feels like maudlin poor little rich boy, and then there are scenes of such power as to be magic, like a comet burning across an inky country sky.
